Sleights Primary School E Safety

Increasingly, we are told of incidents where the internet and abusive text messaging (known as Cyber-bullying) are causing serious harm to young people. On occasion, Cyber-Bullying has been seen as the cause of some young people taking their own lives. At Sleights School, the safety of our children is our highest priority. The children have rules that they must adhere to while using the internet at school. We have had a number of reports recently to suggest that a number of our pupils are using ‘Kick’, ‘Facebook’ and other Social Networking sites outside of school. Please be aware that many of these sites have an age restriction and this is for a very good reason. Please make sure that you are aware of what your child is accessing on their computers, tablets, IPods and Phones.

Please take a few minutes to read the below leaflet, giving other tips on internet safety.

By following a few simple steps, together we can keep our children safe.
